Basketball was invented at a YMCA over a century ago, and the
game has been synonymous with YMCAs ever since. Equipped with two courts, our Main Gymnasium carries on that tradition with pick-up
games for adults scheduled Monday and Wednesday evenings, and Monday, Wednesday, and
Friday noon-hours. Plenty of open gym time is available through the day and weekends for
informal games or practice. To see what's going on in the Main Gym, check the Main Gym Schedule on the home page. |
We hate to boast, but Volleyball
was also invented at a YMCA! And during the fall, winter, and spring, the Main Gym plays host to an outstanding volleyball
program. Organize a team and play in the Tuesday night leagues, where you can choose
beginning, intermediate, or advanced divisions. If you can't field a team, come and play
in the Thursday night individual league, where teams are evenly divided from those
participating. Do you need to hone your skills and sharpen your game? Informal pick-up
volleyball games happen every Sunday evening! For more information on
YMCA Volleyball, click Adult Sports on the home page |
Racquetball,
handball, wallyball our courts handle them all! The YMCA's three
modern racquetball courts have 7 foot Plexiglas windows and
doors, so you never feel boxed-in. If you enjoy competition, the evening racquetball
league - with a flexible schedule and several skill levels - can accommodate almost any
player. For young people, the youth league teaches the basics of the sport and provides
evenly matched games. For more information on YMCA racquetball, click Adult
Sports (or for the youth league, Youth Activities
& Sports) on the home page. |
