CODE OF CONDUCT
Respect
As a member or guest of the YMCA, I will show RESPECT . . .
- by wearing appropriate attire. This includes swimsuits in the pool area, shorts and shirt or leotard in other areas of the facility. My clothing will not display inappropriate language, writing or pictures.
- to all individuals by choosing appropriate language and behavior.
- by listening to music via earphones only, at an appropriate volume and with language that will not offend others around me.
- to others by refraining from smoking in the facility or near the entrance.
- to others by not harming anyone in a physical, mental, verbal or unlawful manner.
- to the YMCA’s and other people’s property.
- to the YMCA by not carrying or concealing devices or objects that may be used as weapons.
- to the YMCA by engaging in positive, constructive, and lawful activities and events.
- for the YMCA by leaving the facility, program area and materials provided by the YMCA in the same condition I found them.
Honesty
As a member or guest of the YMCA, I will . . .
- always be HONEST.
- demonstrate HONESTY by not letting others use my membership card.
Responsibility
As a member or guest of the YMCA, I will always be RESPONSIBLE . . .
- for all my actions, both good and bad.
- for my own choices, and I understand that all my actions have consequences.
- by using the YMCA as a resource so that I promote the best possible situations for myself and others.
- for my own personal property. I will keep my belongings in my possession or secure them in a locker.
- by not bringing valuable items to the YMCA.
Caring
As a member or guest of the YMCA, I will demonstrate CARING by . . .
- adapting an attitude of service toward others.
- displaying a friendly and positive attitude.
- remembering that I have a choice to be a part of the problem or part of the solution.
Upholding the Code Helps Everyone . . .
Respect. Honesty. Responsibility. Caring. We ask everyone to act in a manner that upholds these principles at all times while in the facility or participating in YMCA programs. A violation of the Code of Conduct may result in suspension or termination of YMCA membership privileges. YMCA staff may ask any individual who is not abiding by these rules to leave the premises immediately.
