Tri-ing For Life at the YMCA
The YMCA is excited to announce a new program in partnership with Tri-ing for Life, a local business that offers participants the tools they need to get started with their triathlon adventures. The class will be called Tri-ing for Life at the YMCA, and it will be open to kids in kindergarten all the way through senior in high school. In the class, participants will have the chance to hone their skills in the three areas that a triathlon tests: swimming, biking, and running.
The program will start on April 17th and will run through September. It will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 pm for 6th grade through seniors, and from 4:20-5:00 pm for kindergarten through 5th grade. Registration is $125 for the entire program, which covers USAT fees, Barron Lake Triathlon entry fee, and swim time at the Y. You must have a Y membership to participate, and you must provide a bike, helmet, running shoes, goggles, swimsuit and a towel.
Financial assistance is available, and classes are capped at 20, so sign up early!
Driving Social Responsibility
The generosity of others is at the core of the Y’s existence as a nonprofit. It is only through the support of our hundreds of thousands of volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to support and give back to the communities we engage.
